First Sentence Friday! CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE

This week is one of the challenges in doing First Sentence Friday.  When I came to Chapter Twenty Five and saw this week’s sentence, it looked (IMO) like it just sort of flopped itself out there.  I thought about maybe cheating a little, and sharing what follows, as in yes, giving you the second sentence, because this one’s so brief.  Then I read the second sentence. . . and I thought, weeeellll, now that’s a SPOILER.

We don’t want that.

There are four words only, yet the meaning behind them contains so much.  Of course, you don’t know that – you just have to trust me on this.  Sigh.

Okay, I’ve rattled on enough, and I’m not giving you anything helpful.

Therefore.  The sentence.

  1. I trust you on this, Donna! It’s actually a super enticing sentence… <3 <3 <3

  2. Hmmm. What happened in that missing time? Was someone just marking time? Planning? Waiting anxiously for something in the future? Sure, it’s 4 words, but what do they REALLY mean? Or is this merely a ploy from our dear author to shift the torment from her characters to her readers? Well played, madam. Well played.

    1. Ah, wouldn’t you like to know? A lot can happen in 48 hours. A. Lot. I love tortured readers. 🙂
