Donna, I was first on the reserve list at my library for your new book and got it on Friday. Am only about 20% of the way through, but am taking in each and every word. Book about the South back in the “early days” are MY kind of book and you are excellent with your history and the way you write about it. So interesting and I’m so looking forward to savoring it. Sometimes when I Finish a book that I have loved, it is SO hard to begin another book. Before your book, I started Apples Never Fall- it “fell” back to my library before Chapter 4????. I will be recommending your book to all my reader friends.
Mimi (that’s what my grandkids call me, btw ???? ) you have officially made my day!!! I am so happy you are enjoying what you have read thus far. When I hear from readers little tidbits about what makes the story good to them, it is SO encouraging, and I don’t say that lightly. It’s why I keep writing, and keep wanting to IMPROVE. I love having goals! Also, I suppose I like to write about the times gone by because those are the stories that resonate with me. It’s mostly what I read – southern, historical fiction. They are the most memorable.
So funny about the book that “fell” back to your library. ???? I hope you do keep recommending my books – it really is word of mouth that makes a book such a success.
