First Sentence Fridays and FREE BOOK Friday!

New Year’s Eve is here! It also happens to be my husband’s birthday!????

After seven months of First Sentence Fridays, I am feeling conflicted. For one, I have only three more posts to share, so I tend to feel a little melancholy when I know this time is about to end. On the other hand, it’s exciting to know that VERY SOON, the book will be on store shelves!

Recently, Kelly Cantwell, a winner of one of the ARCs said this, “The first time Del uttered a “Thankee kindly,” he came to life for me.” I love when there is a turning point for a reader, and their view of a character is altered through the actions/mannerisms/speech I create!

Del is a character grappling with his destiny. He’s the sort who doesn’t know what he wants – until he does. After his mind is made up, he does a lot of thinking, and worrying, and that means sleepless nights – like it does for most of us.

Chapter 33

Del

He’d had trouble sleeping lately, which meant he was awake and heard someone up just as early as him.

  1. “Happy Birthday to your husband!” Tomorrow is one of my older brothers birthday. May you and your family have a Very Happy and Blessed New Year.

  2. Years ago, before i was married, I had a date for New Year’s Eve. My date showed up and we headed off to the fancy restaurat. The further we drove, the foggier it got, until we were enveloped in a solid white cloud and couldn’t see the road or other cars. We debated trying to continue on to the restaurat, but it was still far away. We turned around, stopped to pick up some fat food, abs headed back to my place to celebrate. It wasn’t what we’d planned, but it turned out to be a fun time.
